Graphite crucibles, crystallizers, casting moulds

1. Application:

Due to specific properties graphite is an irreplaceable material in the production of elements resistant to high temperatures used in metallurgical industry. For many years we have supplied most of casting plants (especially jewelry ones) in graphite elements such as, among others, crucibles, crystallizers or casting moulds. We make crucibles for resistance and induction furnaces, centrifugal casters and to the direct burner melting. In our offer we have crucibles for most of Polish production furnaces (Olimpia, AKME, Argenta, Avalon), and foreign (Schultheiss, Indutherm, Yasui, Galleoni, Opticon).

Our products are made basing on a description, drawing or sketch. Using our knowledge and experience we advise our clients in the choice of the material
and adjustment of the product's parameters to the modifications made by a client.

2. Assortment:
  • Flange crucibles

The most popular types of crucibles on the market are flange crucibles. We make them with the use of medium-grain materials FN, FNS, and isostatically pressed materials JP. We produce them in the standard dimensions, and on individual orders of our clients basing on a drawing or a design sent to us.

  • Bottom-outlet crucibles and plugs


We make crucibles for bottom-outlet casters of both basic types of graphite. However, we advise using graphites type JP (isostatically pressed) due to the possibility of taking graphite grains by the metal flowing to the cast, which can fall in from the drain hole.

Plugs are used for closing an outlet at the bottom of a crucible. They are made of mainly JP materials due to high precision of production. Plugs are usually modified and adapted to a specific crucible and furnace. They are made basing on a drawing or a used plug.

  • Pot crucibles

Pot crucibles due to their big sizes, and what goes with it, high level of graphite usage, are mainly made of materials types FN and FNS. It helps to avoid high exploitation costs.

They are used mainly for casting silver, bronze, and brass.

These metals do not require the usage of very high quality graphites.

  • Crucibles for centrifugal casters


In centrifugal casters there are often used crucibles of small sizes and with thin walls. Such construction requires the usage of graphite with high mechanical durability. In such cases only graphite JP is used.

  • Sets for continuous casting

Sets for continuous casting are made of two parts: crucible for melting metals and crystallizer, from which metal, while cooling down, leaves an installation in the form of, for example, a rod or a pipe. We advise making such sets only of graphites type JP, as crystallizer itself requires the use of a graphite with very high hardness and mechanical durability. Although the production of crystallizers is usually connected with many problems, our company has a lot of experience in their production. Crystallizers must be made with a lot of care and accuracy, as pulled metal in the form of a rod, pipe, or a flat bar can get blocked in a crystallizer and cause its damage.

  • Graphite casting dies, casting forms

Casting to the metal forms, called dies, has this advantage, that in the whole series only one form is used. Die casting is getting more and more popular in casting non-ferrous alloys. Dies and other moulds do not need such high durability, that's why we use in them graphite FNS, due to their big sizes.

  • Semi-graphite stirring rods

Are used for stirring metals in a crucible. The use of graphite stirring rods helps keep high chemical purity of alloys.
